Young man dies in car crash early this morning

Two men were driving in the car when it drove off the road into a ditch.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING after a man died in a single car crash early this morning in Limerick.

The incident occurred at about 4.15 this morning on the Cappamore to Murroe Road at Dromsallagh, Cappamore, Co Limerick.

Two men were driving in the car when it drove off the road into a ditch.

A man, believed to be in his late-teens or early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second man was taken to University Hospital Limerick.

The road remains closed and Garda forensic collision investigators have begun an examination of the crash site.

    Horrible to lose a family member. When it’s this sudden, it’s worse. May he rest in peace and hope the family find some peace too at some stage.

    Most fatal car accidents happen in the early hours of the morning. Most likely caused by speed or alcohol. But where are the speed vans? The garda I checkpoints? No where to be seen. But there would be garda checkpoints during the day in 50km zones especially in the good weather…. Along with the speed vans…. that’s like shooting fish in a barrel, all to create revenue!

    This isn’t the time or the article for this comment. You make a good point but we don’t know what happened here. All we know is that 1 family are grieving for their loss. Sad news.

    I totally agree with you Mark. But it annoys me when I read about another tragic death on the roads. I think more can be done to prevent them. It’s very sad news and my thoughts are with the family. I didn’t mean to offend anyone.

    And the common denominator here is yet another 20 something dies on our roads?

    You can’t dress it up young drivers are more likely to die why?

    Mark we also know they weren’t coming back from mass at 4:15 in the morning. It is very sad what happened
